Our Process
A Well Oiled Machine
There are some things that just work beautifully. A top-of-the-line vehicle from an established automaker. A recipe that’s been in the family for generations. A wine that harmonizes all inputs and conditions, to create a taste that’s unforgettable.
We strive to offer that same kind of dynamic synergy in what we do as home builders, as we design, build, and project manage. Coordinating each phase well takes skill. But driving the process effectively, so that you can enjoy the ride and the final destination — your custom home — is what we’re all about.
Design
Let’s be honest – home building can get a bad rap, and fairly so. It can be stressful, disruptive, and overloaded with details you don’t want to have to think about. It can also cost a lot of money and take an inordinate amount of time. And, really, there’s no way to be sure you’ll love what you’re working to create, because you haven’t even seen it yet.
That’s why we use BuildVue, our own virtual reality 3D modeling technology. This puts you right in the heart of the design, before making a substantial investment. How does the home feel? Is the entry making the first impression you’d hoped? Does the layout flow well? You get to see firsthand what your custom home will be like from every angle, just like you would with an existing home.
BuildVue:
- Offers a real-feel, immersive experience of your custom home plans
- Uses 3D modeling, virtual reality, and geolocation technologies
- Provides at-scale models that can be shared and revised
- Supports more precise cost estimation and efficient home building
build
With the design carefully honed, evaluated, and agreed upon, the build phase can begin. Throughout this phase, teams also use the 3D models created in BuildVue, in order to compare work-in-progress to the anticipated, modeled result. If you need to make an adjustment to the design, changes are input directly to the 3D model which is shared with all managers and work crews.
If you’ve heard the oft-uttered phrase, “Measure twice, cut once,” you already know what happens next. Our experienced crews get to work. We make sure the materials and techniques we employ are proven to withstand the conditions in Northern Utah. We prioritize quality, and only produce work we are proud enough to put our name on. We place special emphasis on energy efficiency and conservation, and are happy to discuss this in detail with you in regards to your custom home.
Project Management
A custom home is an investment, and you need to ensure your return is maximized. In this context, the major assets at play are your time and capital. Both are extremely valuable. It’s important that you get the quality, turnaround time, and total cost that you expect. It’s important you place your trust in trustworthy hands. We have the hard-earned insight, attention to detail, and communication skills required of successful project managers. You stay in-the-know throughout the process, to as much of an extent as you’d like. This can mean weekly or more often check-ins, emailed project updates, ad hoc discussions about cost allocation, or meeting to look over materials and design in collaboration.
